Top 10 Gift Ideas for a Lettering Artist

Do you have someone in your life who loves lettering but you have no idea what to get that special someone and no clue about quality of products?

Below I have listed my top 10 favorite products as a lettering artist and encourage you to consider these as gifts for a letterer in your life! All products have been tested and I share in each one some sample works that I have created with them! You won't be disappointed in any of these gift ideas!

Because of the number of pictures used, I have created this blog to be collapsible to make it easier to maneuver! Collapse any items you rule out so that you can focus your attention on what would be most fitting!

#1:

Archer and Olive Calliography Pens

So we have known about Tombow and how great their products are for awhile, but I recently stumbled across these pens and they are the BEST of both worlds! Tombow is great, so don't get me wrong! I have the dual brush pens and I have the fudenosuke pens, but A&O have a line of pens that can act as both types in one pen! Plus, they come in super cute carrying box to keep the same color palette together, which is great for a beginning letterer!

Pentel Dual Hybrid Metallic Gel Pens

<Insert loads of gushing and OBSESSION>

I love everything about the way that these pens write. They are so smooth and the glitter in them adds so much character to my projects. I can use them to do faux calligraphy or I can outline lettering that I do with other markers! They just make my projects pop!

Archer & Olive Metallic Acrylograph Pens

Whereas the Calliography pens are water-based, the acrylograph pens are an acrylic paint medium. They are more opaque and are good for lettering on paper as well as ornaments, wood, or any other ideas you may have, which makes them more versatile.

I cannot lie--I have a deep love for metallic colors, so these are my preference, but any of the acrylograph pens are great! Use code LetteringLeah to save at checkout!

Karin Brushpro Markers

I listed these a bit lower, but this would be a splurge gift! At $130, this full set of amazing colors is worth every dime. The pigment of these pens is incredible, and they are water-based, so they can even be used for watercolor projects! Stay tuned for more videos or subscribe to my Youtube channel to be notified as I post more videos of how to use them in different ways!

The Lettering Prayer Journal

This is my all-time favorite lettering book. It has given me opportunities to really tuck the Word deep into my heart as I focus on the verse and relax by lettering the words of scripture.

Happy Hand-Lettering

Maghon Taylor has been doing a number of collaborations with designers, and her happy lettering can be found from Wal-Mart to boutiques! Her style is distinct and so happy, and I love her projects of inspiration and her lettering guides in this book!

Archer & Olive Dot Grid Journal

If you are looking to keep that special letterer busy and focused for awhile, gift this journal to him/her! I will continue to build my collection of bullet journal resources on this blog, so have them subscribe to this blog to be notified of added resources! Use LetteringLeah at checkout to save money! Of all the projects I have lettered, my bullet journal is by far my favorite! I am able to track house cleaning, memories, Bible verses, and so much more!

Tombow Fudenosuke Set

Fudenosuke pens are great for beginning letterers to learn the art of brush pen lettering! These are a smaller pen so they are great for lettering on smaller projects or going for a more elegant look!
