Snowflakes are such a fun creative exercise, yet I have always been intimidated by them! So I decided to break them down into a simple process to make them less daunting for you!
Side note: I have designed this post with collapsible directions due to the number of photos I am attaching to make this process more approachable for you! I am also including a traceable at the bottom in case you want to use it to help you master the fun of snowflakes!

First: You want to draw a circle to make sure that your snowflake has the proper shape!
You can sketch out the circle in pencil if you are good at drawing a circle, or you can just trace any circular shape! I used the bottom of my coffee mug! Be sure to do this part in pencil!

Second: Draw a line that divides your circle in half!
This line should start and end at the edges of your circle so that it is the correct shape.
Third: Draw an X to divide the circle.
As before, you want your lines to start and end with the circle to keep the shape. Try to keep it evenly proportioned. You now have three lines.

Fourth: Erase that beautiful circle!
Erase the lines of the circle so that we can now begin to decorate!
Finally: DECORATE!
This is my absolute favorite part! I love to play with the shapes. You can use circles, diamonds, and V's to create the shape.
Start with decorating the middle. I have demonstrated a few easy ways to decorate the interior below.

Then you want to decorate the outside lines. I have listed a few ways to do this! Have fun and challenge yourself! Play with filling in some of your shapes and not others. There are countless options for creating snowflakes. Keep scrolling to see some of my favorite supplies for creating snowflakes and for a free traceable that you can use to create your own snowflakes!
